Boarding Area A

The new boarding pier of Fiumicino Airport, located at the east end of the terminal system, will be organised on two levels dedicated to the passengers. In total, 13 gates will be included equipped with loading bridge and 10 remote gates. The connection with T1 will take place through an elevated passage that will lead towards an expansion of the Front Building of Terminal 1.

The new Boarding Area will be created by combining design and modern technology with the most advanced environmental and energy performance and will be certified LEED® “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design”. LEED® is a certification system created thanks to U.S. Green Building Council for the design, construction and management of sustainable buildings. The process follows the entire life cycle of the structures from the design to their going into operation, recognising the performance of the buildings in key sectors, such as: energy and water savings, reduction of CO2 emissions, improvement of the environmental quality of the interiors, materials and the resources used, the project.
